~Ultrasound!~

Today we got to see our baby for the very first time!  We were not expecting to have an ultrasound at this visit but they surprised us...and what a pleasant surprise it was!  It was such a cool thing to watch him/her kicking and moving around.  The doctor said that the baby is measuring bigger than we expected and moved the due date up to October 15th.  This was the first appointment where we had actually gotten to see the doctor, although we had a pre-conception appointment with him last August and decided we really liked him.  This visit confirms that we like him a lot and are glad that he is our doctor.

After the appointment we came home and got ready to babysit little Atticus.  He is just over a month old and just as precious as can be! Donny is gonna be such a great dad!  He was so good with him and walked him up and down our hallway till he fell asleep.

~Staff Night Out~

It's Spring Break and all the students are gone.  It's been pretty quiet around here.  There have only been a few work things I have done, so that has been nice.  Although, one of the "work things" I can't complain about at all!  Someone donated money to the Kirkland campus to bless the full time staff and help them develop their relationships with one another in each department.  Well, we were able to reap the benefits of that as well.  We were able to go out for a nice dinner together last night, spouses included.  Afterwards we went over to Rob and Debbie's new place for dessert, games, and an episode of Star Trek!  lol.  I quite enjoyed the evening.  I work with some wonderful people.  I am  very blessed by them.

~Birthday~

We started the day in Salem. I had been craving Chang's Mongolian Grill.  I had been waiting cause I haven't been able to eat much lately and it's a little spendy if you aren't going to be able to eat any of it!  But it's free on your birthday!  So I could eat and not feel guilty about it.  For the first time in over a month, I over ate!  I have no regrets!  It was so delicious!  Mom, dad, and Traci met us there and enjoyed the deliciousness as well :)

Dad and Traci trying to smile with full mouths
After lunch, Donny drove us up to Bridgeport Village where we walked off lunch so we could eat dessert!
Gelato
After all of that I was done for.  I can't stay awake to save my life these days.  So we went to the in-laws' and I took a good 2 hour nap!  I needed it!  I basically woke up just in time to get ready for the play.  Some friends of ours had purchased tickets to Wicked and then moved out of state.  We had planned for them to come back and stay with us so they could still see the play...and visit us, but it didn't work out.  They gave us the tickets and it just happened to be my birthday!  It was a lot of fun.  Definitely not something we would have done on our own (without being given tickets) but we had a great time!  The play was great and the actors were incredibly talented!  And the best part was that I got to spend the whole day with my best friend!  I feel so blessed!

~Snow and Staycation~

Well, we were supposed to drive over to Eagle Crest today with my family (Donny was driving over Thursday) but after the 3 hours it took us to get to Detroit, we asked how the pass was and were told we couldn't get there!  Ugh...  There had been an avalanche and it wasn't going to get cleared that day.  Well, our little vacation got cancelled (at least the Eagle Crest part) and we drove home, trying to think of a backup plan.  We decided to have a staycation.  We had already taken time off work, and we wanted to relax a bit.  We turned off our cell phones and made a point to not check our email or facebook.  We sat at home and read books, played games, went on walks, watched movies, etc...  It was really nice actually.  And it never stopped snowing the whole day.  There was only 3 or so inches on the ground by the morning though and it melted pretty fast.  By noon on Thursday it was sunny, blue skies and about 65 degrees!  The roads were dry and only the snowmen remained in the green yards of our neighbors homes to remind us of the snow!  It was so strange!!!!

~Sarah~

Dreamt of Sarah last night.  I wouldn't have posted anything about it except that it was an incredible dream.  I saw her as I imagine she is in Heaven right now!  She had the same joy and sparkle she had here...but multiplied!  She was her best self...the way she would have been had sin not entered the world and brought pain and strife.  She suffered no ill effects from the lifestyle she once lived and there was zero Spina Bifida in her body!  She was so happy and when she saw me, she hurried to me (not limping one bit) and gave me a great big hug.  The smile on her face I will never forget.  I woke up in tears, so happy for her and the hope she found in God.  I truly look forward to seeing her again and giving her that big hug!  Even now, remembering these things bring me to tears...joyful tears on her behalf.

~Coffee, Study and Philosophy~

Took a few students to Broadway Coffeehouse to study today.  Well, they studied. :)  It was a beautiful sunny day and I just enjoyed being out with them.

Tonight we had a special event on campus.  We invited people to watch a Philosophy debate on the existence of God.  About 60 people showed up and it seemed to go great!  We watched about an hour of a pre-recorded debate between a Christian Philosopher and an Atheist Philosopher.  The debate took place at Biola University a few years back.  After watching the first bit of the video, the floor was opened for questions.  It was great to have some friends of mine (Shanon and Tristan) there with me as well!  Love them dearly! I had the perfect occasion to take pictures today, but I didn't even think about it!  oh well.

~Tapes to MP3~

So I have this great collection of teaching tapes...yes tapes.  They are from the teaching company and I got them for dirt cheap cause, let's just be honest, who has a tape player???  So I've had these tapes for a few years now and my dad recently bought a recorder that I can connect to my computer and record them in mp3 format.  I'm kind of excited about this!  I will finally be able to listen to them!  haha!  Perhaps a little nerdy of me, but I really enjoy learning and there are some awesome subjects here.  So to start, I am recording the series on the Ancient Civilizations of Asia Minor.  It is taught by Kenneth Harl from Tulane University.  I hope I did this right, cause I'm really looking forward to this!
