~Burgers and Tea~

Had lunch at Five Guys with Leia today.  Some of the best burgers ever!  The fries are pretty amazing too...so unhealthy though...ugh.
We couldn't finish the fries
It's Thursday, which means Jane Austen movie and crochet with the girls.  It also means yummy tea, mmmm.  Tonight was Sweet Cranberry Melange.  It was a small group tonight, just four of us, but quite relaxing and chill.  I worked on my blanket.  I'm so close to being done.  I think I started it towards the end of November last year. It's nice to be able to use the blanket while you are crocheting it :)

~The Viewing~

Sarah's family set up a viewing at the funeral home.  The funeral will be Saturday, but today was a good opportunity to come to grips with the fact that her spirit is no longer her.  Traci, Lorraine and I went and stayed with the family for almost 2 hours.  We were met there by Debbie and later by my dad.  I think it was good that so many people from the school were there for the family.  She was wearing her Salem Bible College shirt.  That was touching to see.  I definitely cried, but not as much as I was expecting to.

Before the viewing I took the girls to Starbucks to catch up on some reading.  I suggested they do this before and not after.  It's hard to know how to go about normal life when you are grieving, and yet life keeps coming.  This is an attempt to not throw in the towel later when it could be overwhelming to look at everything you missed while going through the grief process.

~Strength~

Long day.  Long Week.  Rough Year.  But God is good.  He is faithful and merciful.

I won't tell the whole day's story, but in a nutshell there was a major leak in the kitchen, walls that had to be prepped for painting today, students that needed counsel, students that needed perspective, dinner that needed to be made (ok, that's normal), and a student taken to the hospital...oh and I found out today that people are coming from the Kirkland campus tomorrow which means I have a big list of things to do before they get here.

Me writing this blog...first (and only) pic of the day.
It's actually 12:46 am on Wednesday as I'm writing this, but I just sat down and I needed to do something relaxing before heading off to bed.  I'm doing surprisingly well for the amount of things going on...still, rough day.  I can tell people are praying for the school and the staff because of all the strength we still have.  It is not something I posses on my own.  I am so very grateful for your prayers.

~Washing Machine Broke~

The washing machine broke as I was trying to wash my towels...sigh...I had to take them out, sopping wet, and throw them in the bathtub.  Luckily I can use the resident washing machine in the mean time, but sharing the 2 machines with 3 girls and a family of 4 is going to get interesting real quick.  I try to do one load of laundry a day/every other day, which works well when you can start it in the morning and finish it at night. Not a huge deal, it just throws a kink in my carefully laid out schedule.  Glad volleyball was there afterwards to work out my frustration over the brokenness. :)

~Worship with 'The Band'~

Went to see Leia and her band lead worship at the Ike Box in Salem. It was fun to hear their sound, even though they added a few people for the night.  Usually the band (to be named later) consists of the keyboard player (who started the band), Leia, and the harmonica player.  She says they are going for a folky, hymns sound.  I like it, and it fits her beautifully. Afterwards a few of us went to Applebees and goofed around.  Overall, quite a refreshing night.

~BFF~

Got to spend some much needed time with Leia today.  We tried to take our own picture, but fail.  Donny was nearby and so I had him take one of us.  It's not one of my best shots...but the memory is well worth posting.

~Cereal~

I have been dizzy all day.  Hope my head feels normal by tomorrow.  In the mean time, I shall read a book and snack on my new favorite cereal...it is organic granola with berries and dark chocolate.  I've fallen in love.
