~Synagogue~

Each year we take a field trip during chapel.  This semester's field trip was to Neveh Shalom Synogogue in Portland.  It was a great experience!  They let us take pictures (as you can see) and even let us see an actual Toarh scroll.  Pretty incredible, seeing as they cost upwards of $50,000 and you are not allowed to touch it!  Everyone had a great time.

~Date Night~

Donny and I had a date night tonight.  We watched a redbox movie and went out for half price appetizers at Applebees.  We watched Midnight in Paris and I have to say that I wanted to watch is because I could never tell what it was about when I saw the previews and it intrigued me.  It held my attention and I liked the little quirks about it.  All in all, good choice.  A movie I probably will only ever see a handful of times but I'm glad we saw it.

LaFete is our annual school formal.  It's an entertaining dinner.  This year the theme was the Grammy's and we had some ...well, entertaining performances!

~Connection Tour~

So today was my day off but the staff was going to the Connection Tour (which is a pastor's meeting for Oregon Assemblies of God pastors) and they wanted me to attend as well.  It was fun getting to spend time with Dad, Debbie and Dan outside of staff meeting.  I didn't take any pictures.  That would have been an odd thing to do...

Later that day:
I had a hankering for some frozen yogurt.  And with all the frozen yogurt shops popping up around here, Donny and I decided to go get some!  Ugh...also didn't take a pic.  Oh well.  At least I updated the blog!  Lol.

~Baby Books~

Bought some baby books (as if I don't have a library of them already!) and a Pregnancy Journal today.  The news sets in a little more everyday.  It's getting harder to not tell my students.  Sunday morning at church there was a guy in front of me that couldn't contain his worshiping and his chair kept hitting me in the stomach.  I got tired of it and moved over. With me not there to stop it, his chair came back a full foot!  Anyway, remembering his chair, Lorraine mentioned today that it's a good thing I'm not pregnant!  It's funny, they have thought I've been prego just about every month for the past 2 years.  So when I finally tell them I am, I know they are all gonna talk among themselves and say, "I knew she was pregnant, I could totally tell!"  lol  Oh well! I love those ladies...I don't think the guys will be part of that so much, but I love them too!

~Purim!~

Celebrated Purim tonight!  That is the feast instituted in the book of Esther.  It's a man-made feast but a good one!  To celebrate we ate all kinds of goodies (not all pictured), read the book of Esther, stamped Haman's name out, made gift bags to encourage people, and watched One Night with the King and laughed at how ridiculous it is!  When we read the book of Esther, we had noise makers and we cheered every time Mordechai's name was mentioned and boo-ed and stamped our feet every time Haman's name was mentioned!  It was a good time!

Haman's name wiped out

~Telling His Parents~

We have had to wait for what seems like forever to tell my in-laws.  It was nearly torture!  But this has been an incredibly stressful week for Donny as his first deadline for his thesis was this week and he had to finish it...no matter what!  So we had plans to go to a nice dinner his school had put on.  After the dinner we went to see Ted and Kelly and tell them the good news!  (As you can tell from the picture, I changed clothes after the dinner...in case you were wondering!)  We had this cute way to tell them, but the dinner lasted longer than we thought it would and we were both really tired.  Donny had opened  the store that morning and I'm, well, pregnant.  So we just all sat around and talked about the new chickens Ted is getting and Donny tells them we are expecting our own little chick, hehehe!  He's kind of adorable, but don't tell him I said that!

~Glitter~

So much glitter!!!  I made my shoes for LaFete today...with glitter!  And then Leia came over and we decorated masks to wear for our Purim Celebration this Saturday.  Fun day!

~OMSI~

My dad wanted to go see BodyWorks at OMSI today, so I met him at his house (that's when I told him and mom they were going to be grandparents!) and we headed up to Portland.  The exhibit was pretty interesting.  Made me a little sick at times but it was all the more interesting knowing that I am growing a little person inside of me!  The best part of the day was when we got to see the exhibit they have of actual size babies at different stages of pregnancy.  I am 4 weeks today and the smallest baby they had, was 4 weeks.  It was a very special experience to see that with my dad on the day that I told him :)  It is something I will never forget.

How your baby's growing:

This week marks the beginning of the embryonic period. From now until 10 weeks, all of your baby's organs will begin to develop and some will even begin to function. As a result, this is the time when she'll be most vulnerable to anything that might interfere with her development.
Right now your baby is an embryo the size of a poppy seed, consisting of two layers: the epiblast and the hypoblast, from which all of her organs and body parts will develop.
The primitive placenta is also made up of two layers at this point. Its cells are tunneling into the lining of your uterus, creating spaces for your blood to flow so that the developed placenta will be able to provide nutrients and oxygen to your growing baby when it starts to function at the end of this week.
Also present now are the amniotic sac, which will house your baby; the amniotic fluid, which will cushion her as she grows; and the yolk sac, which produces your baby's red blood cells and helps deliver nutrients to her until the placenta has developed and is ready to take over this duty.

~Telling my family~

After I told my mom

They are so excited to be grandparents!

She doesn't know yet!

I had a present for her...she said, "A kiss?" So I kissed her!

Real present: Pride and Prejudice

She just found out!

still screaming...though it doesn't look like it

still screaming!

Laugh/crying

sobbing!!!

Now we are both crying!

Yay!  She's gonna be an Aunt!
